red onion

Instructions
In a saucepan, heat vinegar, water, sugar, and salt over medium heat until dissolved.
Slice red onion from root to stem as thin as you can.
Place sliced onions and garlic in a jar and pour the warm liquid over them.
Let sit at room temp for 30 minutes, then refrigerate for at least 1 hour before serving.
