Pickeled Red Onions

Ingredients

  • 1 large red onion thinly sliced
  • ¾ C apple cider vinegar
  • ¾ C water
  • 1 tablespoon sugar or honey
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 clove garlic crushed

Instructions

  • In a saucepan, heat vinegar, water, sugar, and salt over medium heat until dissolved.
  • Slice red onion from root to stem as thin as you can.
  • Place sliced onions and garlic in a jar and pour the warm liquid over them.
  • Let sit at room temp for 30 minutes, then refrigerate for at least 1 hour before serving.
